Management has changed. Businesses need to change too.

Most managers achieve their position by experience. They’re great at what they do and excel in what they know. Then, one day, the world changes: and they’re caught out. Enter Skills Shift.

Preparing for change

We established Skills Shift with one goal: to prepare managers for change. Change is inevitable; cycles are part of business – but, all too often, organisations are caught out. Business dips. Competitors rise. The skills so valuable yesterday don’t help today. Our training helps managers to cope with change, understand change and thrive on change. Our training helps organisations to not just weather one change, but ride all change with far greater agility and confidence.

Preparing for change

A three-stage approach

Most management training drops managers into a few standard courses and then leaves the managers to fend for themselves. Success is left to chance. It seldom works.

A journey of success

Our three-step approach takes managers on a journey of shared success. We work closely with an organisation to understand where the business wants to go; what it wants to achieve. We then build a learning programme for managers, based around those needs – taking into account any previous training and each person’s skills. We help managers become better; to cope with change better; to direct their teams better – and to drive the business forwards with greater velocity and precision.

An approach based on experience

Our learning consultants aren’t ‘career trainers’ – they’ve all held senior management positions and grown companies in good times and bad.

Those who can, do. Then, they teach.

So much management training is theoretical. Well, your business isn’t faced with generic what-ifs. It’s faced with real challenges and opportunities which are specific to you. To build the skills of managers so that they can cope with the reality of change, you need learning programmes that are developed and delivered in the classroom and online, by people with real senior experience. People who can understand your needs. That’s why all of our learning consultants have created success, via top management positions, out in the real world. It’s experience that comes from doing it and getting it right, not from the pages of a training manual.
